As you may be aware, the BMSB season for 2020-21 is due to be effective for goods shipped on or after 1 September 2020, that arrive in New Zealand territory by 30 April 2021 (inclusive).
At this stage MPI have not officially communicated any changes to the 2019-20 regulations, however we do anticipate an update from them in the next two weeks. In the interim, below please find a refresher of the existing requirements, which remain effective until such time as MPI revise them officially.
Measures apply to all new or used vehicles, machinery and parts manufactured in, or shipped from, or tran-shipped via the following countries:
Republic of North Macedonia
Bosnia and Herzegovina
United States of America
The goods must be fumigated offshore before arriving to New Zealand. Furthermore, all shipments from Italy require treatment before arrival in New Zealand despite commodity and container type.
Consignees remain responsible for ensuring their shipments are compliant. Please visit the below link for more information and to familiarize yourself with the requirements:Next »
